Best so far! (5/5) Feb 15, 2009 Vick H. Simi Valley CA US
I've had 6 different GPS units for my vehicles over the past 10 years and this is the best so far! Tons of features! I've had the Nuvi 5000 for a couple of months and have no complaints.
Awesome product (5/5) Mar 29, 2008 J. Lewis Gossett Williamsburg Virginia US
Yesterday, my Garmin Nuvi 5000PKG +GDB 50 MSN Direct receiver arrived via FedEx. My experience with GPSNow.com has been first rate. The online ordering was trouble-free. I'm especially pleased with the $$'s saved for everything (including the shipping charge), versus making a local purchase @ BB or CC for the same equipment. The Nuvi 5k is an upgrade to my StreetPilot 2730. I love the larger screen.
Features galore (5/5) Mar 17, 2008 Dominick Panaccione Henderson NV US
The nuvi 5000's many features and large widescreen make it a natural for taking on our RV trips.

The extra large screen can be easily seen on the dash of our wide RV. The screen display brightness is automatically adjusted for night/day. This is a real plus in cloudy weather.

Voice prompts are accurate and timely. The unit easily calculates and re-calculates routes using an easily acquired satellite signal. Once the signal locks on it is seldom lost. One has the ability to add stops along the current route at will.

Using the nuvi 5000 is mostly intuitive however the owners manual and the Garmin support on their website is top notch for answering questions or solving problems.

We ordered the nuvi 5000 bundled with the MSN Direct adapter with the 1 Year subscription. The ability to locate food and gas along with current traffic information and weather make it a travelers dream.

Our buying experience was flawless. Customer Service answered all of our pre-purchase questions and the unit was on our doorstep the next day.
Powerful Features/Great Pkg (4/5) Mar 26, 2008 Jean Servideo Mill Spring NC US
We were using MS Streets and Trips on a laptop. While the screen is smaller the features are all there in a slim package that can be easily stowed. The built-in antenna a powerful plus. (One less cable to tangle!) We had great signal strength with the unit held in my lap.
Bought this over the Street Pilot 7200 for our RV; not sure the older firmware of the Street Pilot labels all the streets so it is less useful to browse as a map.
Haven't begun to explore the many other entertainment features yet. Hoping that I can download free E-books from our library that can be read on the unit (iPod will not work on this format). Not sure if the same as Audible.com format.
The re-routing occurs quickly and while my other program suggested u-turns, the 5000 provides a true re-route. The voice does sound annoyed announcing "recalculating"!
