& Recreation
 GARMIN
MapSource U.S. Roads and Recreation contains highways; local, county, and
residential roads; and interstates for all 50 states. GARMIN MapSource
U.S. Roads and Recreation displays U.S. Interstate Exits Information such
as service stations, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, campsites,
hospitals, banks, and more. Also shown is U.S. inland cartography with
shoreline detail for lakes, reservoirs, rivers; icons indicating boat
ramps, dams, marinas, public facilities, mile markers, and first-aid
stations; and U.S. nautical navaids such as daybeacons, radiobeacons,
RACONs, fog signals, lights, buoys, and other navaids. With a map
download-compatible GARMIN GPS (see MapSource Map
Transfer Compatibility Table), simply transfer maps from the PC to
your compatible GPS unit.
Garmin recommends MapSource
MetroGuide instead for GPS units compatible with MetroGuide
(see MapSource Map Transfer Compatibility Table).
MetroGuide supports the "Find" function
for "Points of Interest" and "Address Lookup" of these
units while Roads & Recreation does not. However, Roads &
Recreation is less expensive and uses less memory.
CD-ROM contains 3,282 maps, "average*" map size
0.21 MB, 694 MB total
*Individual map sizes can vary greatly from
"average" map size.

Compatibility: The trip and
waypoint management functions of this product work with nearly all GARMIN GPS
units, excluding the GPS100 family and panel mount aviation units. See Garmin
MapSource Compatibility for units that support the map download
feature of this product. Some GPS units require a GARMIN data card to
upload map data (see Garmin
MapSource Compatibility).
System Requirements: PC with Windows 2000
or newer operating system;
32MB RAM minimum; 2 GB free hard disk space; CD-ROM drive for CD versions or DVD
drive for DVD versions; available serial and/or USB port, 256 color display adapter and monitor
(16- bit color required); and mouse or other pointing device; PC Interface
cable, Internet access is recommended.
