GARMIN MapSource

MapSource software allows you to view color maps on a personal computer, with zoom and pan functions for easy map browsing. Use the trip and waypoint manager functions to create waypoints, routes, and tracks, and transfer them between your GARMIN GPS and your PC. This is excellent for planning your next outdoor adventure, business trip, vacation, or recreational outing without ever leaving your house.

For those units that accept the map transfer feature (see Garmin MapSource Compatibility), users can either download MapSource CD- ROM/DVD content to memory cards or directly to their units depending on the GPS product that they own (preloaded data cards are available for certain units - check accessory list on individual product webpage). You can think of MapSource as an atlas that contains many smaller maps. By choosing several of these maps, you can make a map set. To download information directly to your GPS, simply connect your GARMIN GPS to your PC using a PC interface cable. Select the map areas on screen, and with the click of the mouse, the information downloads to your GPS. Some units require a GARMIN data card, CompactFlash Card, Secure Digital Card, or microSD (transFlash) memory card to download (preloaded data cards are available for certain units - check accessory list on individual product webpage).

Each MapSource product is sold separately, however, more than one product can be used and downloaded into a GARMIN-compatible unit.

Please Note: To provide its customers with the most complete and accurate electronic maps achievable at reasonable cost, Garmin uses a combination of government and private data sources. Virtually all data sources contain incomplete or inaccurate data to some degree. In addition, features are continually changing, so the data may not reflect the latest modifications and/or additions.

Compatibility: The trip and waypoint management functions of this product work with nearly all GARMIN GPS units, excluding the GPS100 family and panel mount aviation units. See Garmin MapSource Compatibility for units that support the map download feature of this product. Some GPS units require a GARMIN data card to upload map data (see Garmin MapSource Compatibility).
