MapSource™ CDs provide high level detail
of roads, recreational areas, coastlines, navaids, lakes, boat ramps,
topography and more. A USB PC Interface cable is enclosed with each GPSMAP
60 to allow you to download MapSource™ CD Data between your PC and
GPSMAP 60. MapSource™ software also allows you to view color maps
on a personal computer, with zoom and pan functions for easy map browsing.
Users can then select individual maps in areas of interest and transfer
the maps to the GPSMAP60 or other compatible GPS.
Think of MapSource™ as an atlas that
contains many smaller maps. By choosing several of these maps, you
can make a map set. This map set can then be transferred to your
GPSMAP 60, which allows you to tailor the map detail for the geographic
areas you wish to view. For instance, if you are planning a trip by car,
your map set might only need to include those maps that are along your
intended driving route. MapSource gives you the flexibility to choose the
