MapSource™ CDs provide high level detail
of roads, recreational areas, coastlines, navaids, lakes, boat ramps,
topography and more. A USB PC Interface cable is enclosed with each GPSMAP
478* to allow you to download MapSource™ CD Data between your PC and
GPSMAP 478*. MapSource™ software also allows you to view color
maps on a personal computer, with zoom and pan functions for easy map
browsing. Users can then select individual maps in areas of interest and
transfer the maps to the GPSMAP 478* or other compatible GPS.
Think of MapSource™ as an atlas that contains many
smaller maps. By choosing several of these maps, you can make a map
set. This map set can then be transferred to your GARMIN GPS, which
allows you to tailor the map detail for the geographic areas you wish to
view. MapSource gives you the flexibility to choose the extent of the
mapping coverage.
Use the trip and waypoint manager functions to create
